Commitment to Safety

Icy surfaces pose significant safety risks, particularly in high-traffic areas such as car parks, walkways, and building entrances, where slips, trips, and falls are more likely to occur. Staircases, ramps, and emergency exits are especially vulnerable to ice accumulation. Ensuring these areas are kept clear of ice is crucial for preventing accidents.

We offer two types of de-icing salts to help our clients stay safe during the winter months: rock salt  and white salt.

Rock salt is a cost-effective de-icer commonly used on roads or large areas such as car parks, although it can leave a slight brown residue behind. White salt is our cleaner alternative, de-icing without leaving any residue, making it an ideal choice for use near buildings and walkways.

Both products work quickly in both a preventative and reactionary manner by lowering the freezing point of water, effectively preventing the formation of ice and minimizing the risks associated with slippery surfaces.

Commitment to Quality

To uphold our commitment to safety, we make sure that our salt is of the highest quality. Our rock salt that meets the BS 3247:2011 standard—a certification granted by the British Standards Institute (BSI), a global leader in technical standards and certifications. This certification guarantees that the de-icing salt contains less than 4% moisture and has an optimal granule size for precise and effective spreading.

Why is this important? Higher moisture content negatively affects the salt’s effectiveness and spreadability as wet salt often ‘clumps’ together, making it less efficient. Buying rock salt that carries the BS 3247:2011 certification means the salt is fit for purpose and will keep your surfaces ice-free and safe to use. This means fewer hazards, enhanced safety, and reduced liability for businesses since accidents are less likely to happen.

In addition to meeting this respected standard, we also conduct additional quality checks in-house to ensure that all of our salt meet our customers’ expectations. This includes making sure that each product is weighed and inspected before shipment and then delivered in a timely manner.
